N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP) Testing for Purity Assay by GC-FID

The analysis of N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP) for purity assay by GC-FID is used to determine NMP purity to the nearest 0.01%. The sample is injected on a gas chromatograph equipped with a flame ionization detector capable of detecting and quantifying contaminants in NMP.

Sample results are reported as Total NMP, which includes the identification and quantification of three compounds: NMP, 1,3-Dimythylpyrrolidone (1,3-DMP), and 1,4-Dimethylpyrrolidone (1,4-DMP).

1,3-DMP and 1,4-DMP are isomers of NMP and are commonly considered part of the pure NMP material.

Utilzing this assay, Paragon is capable of identifying the following contaminants in NMP:

N-Methylpyrrolidone
N-Methylpyrrolidone
